Dow Jones Newswires: Okta says it’s investigating reports of digital breach
By Ben Otto
Identity management software company Okta Inc. said Tuesday that it is investigating reports of a digital breach after hackers posted images they said were of the company’s internal systems.
“Okta is aware of the reports and is currently investigating,” the San Francisco-based company said in an emailed statement. “We will provide updates as more information becomes available.”
Okta’s investigation comes after the hacking group LAPSUS$ posted screenshots on Telegram that it said showed the group’s access to Okta.com admin and other systems. The images were circulated on other forums including Twitter.
More than 15,000 customers, including companies, universities and government agencies around the world, use Okta services to secure and manage identities, Okta said in a recent filing.
